How to Perform Straight Arm Pulldown Bar Attachment

Attach a straight bar to a high pulley on a cable machine and stand facing the machine with your feet shoulder-width apart. Grab the bar with an overhand grip slightly wider than shoulder width and step back slightly so there is tension on the cable. Keeping your arms mostly straight with only a slight bend in the elbows, pull the bar downward in an arc toward your thighs by engaging your lats. Focus on moving your shoulders rather than bending your arms. Pause briefly at the bottom, then slowly return the bar to the starting position while maintaining control.
